Job Summary
The Activity Assistant creates and implements resident focus therapeutic activities.
- Facilitates individualized therapeutic activities for bed bound residents.
- Facilitates resident therapeutic group activities.
- Participates in care plan meetings.
- Completes clinical documentation in medical record.
- Plans and coordinates offsite resident activities.
- Decorates resident areas according to season/holiday.
- Completes appropriate Minimum Date Set sections.
- Plans and posts resident activity calendar.
- Documents daily activities in Activity Log.
Job QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED is required.
Completion of a thirty-six hours Activity Director course is required. Six months of experience working in a healthcare setting is required. Current Georgia Nurse Aide certification (C.N.A.) is required.
Must possess a knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Must possess the ability to communicate and work well with people and be capable of working independently. Experience working in programming is strongly preferred.
